how warm does your motor get

i just put a S5 TII half bridge rebuild in and got it fired up and let it run for 10-15 minutes ,the tempature gauge only goes half way up , but when i touch it ( LIM , rotor housings and irons) feel's hot , I'd like to think i'm just pariniod .So how hot does yours get

last time i checked, the core is suppose to be pretty damn hot, and it doesn't help with that frickin turbo being right beside the LIM

the LIM gets pretty warm to touch , and i dont get that , the radiator is nowhere near as hot

Yup, that stuff gets really hot...

I constantly hear people comparing the egt's or rotaries being way more than piston engines. as with anything giving away heat, if some thing is near it (let alone connected like the uim/lim) that stuff will get hot. i remember driving it for about as long as you stated, but i had to put on a coolant hose clamp on (the one from the firewall to i believe a metal hard line going to the turbo) and that thing was super hot!!! especially if you dont have any heat shielding, that should be some thing to definitely look into purchasing!!!
