Hi. I just bought an 88 rx7 GTU with 205 tires riding on 15's (on the door sill sticker) with the 4 pot aluminum calipers in the front. How can I tell if the car I bought has an LSD?

 

Do a burnout and see if you leave two black marks or one. There are other ways to check this (like put in on jacks and see if the wheels spin together yadda) but its really easy to just lay the rubber down and see what happens

edit: I think if you have 4 pot front calipers you have LSD.

 

Jack the rear end up and turn one of the rear wheels by hand. The other side should turn in the same direction.

 

If you have an 88 GTU yes you have a lsd rearend!

i had a 90 gxl it had a thing on it saying lsd fluid only, it layed 2 black marks and all, but when i jacked it up and spun one wheel the other wheel goes the opposite way.
and on my GTUs they both spin the same way when i spin one wheel by itself.

 

If you leave 2 black marks consistantly, you definantly have LSD...
