How to tell rotors apart.

I need to know how S4 and S5 rotors are identified. I just recieved my rotos supposed to be S5 but Just from looking I see the S and I also see a 4. I need to verify this before I accuse of mistake.
Thanks peeps.

S5 rotors are lighter than S4 rotors. Do you have a scale to weight them?

Although, I don't know how much they weigh.

The S5 rotors have a machined compression dish. The S4 are cast.

Thankyou..

I found a 5 on them that seems to be machined on very small. The rest of # and letters seem to be the hammered type you hammer in. And they looked machined, not cast. I believe I they are 5's.
And if thats the case They are very clean and in great condition.
Thanks board members.

the only number stampings on the rotors that mean a thing are the letters A-D, those are the balance weight numbers and they should be within 1 letter of each other for balancing purposes, any 4 or 5s on the rotors doesn't mean anything about the series of rotor.

Aaron is right about the machined surface in the compression relief pocket, s5s will be machined like the face of the rotors with grooved lines where S4 rotors have a rough surface that more resembles the grainy sand that was used to mold the rotors just like the surface in the oil cooling pockets inside the rotors.

Yep, the depression on the s4's is rough, while its smooth on s5's.
