How To remove the Ignition switch?

Ok so my car has had intermittent starting probs. For years, it's always been the ignition switch. While in college the car sat for several years (2.5 yrs) Now that a new motor is in, it's worse. Well it finally gave up. The switch would crank if you wiggled or played with it. It'll push start no prob. So i'm replacing it. Any advice anyone can throw my way, who's done this in the past? It'll be greatly appreciated and you'd be helping a ugly fast and loud TII back on the road.

use a dremel to cut grooves into the screws. or vice grips.....once they are out its easy.

doesn't the ignition switch use those screws that the heads pop off once it's torque too much. Thus making it a pain to remove...particularly for thieves.

Yes, they are security fasteners, but they aren't that bad to remove.
A long-nose vice grip should get them off.
I've even used a chisel and hammer to bang em off also.
