i looked in haynes, and it doesn say jack poop. where would the bolts possibly in a 86 gxl?

 

If it bolts on then u probably wanna remove rear carpet by spare and check there. Some of the wings they put on w/ a high grade epoxy.

 

Take out the carpeting in the back where the spare is. Underneath the wing youll feel clips with nuts on the end of them. remove them, youll also need to remove the nuts from the sides of the wing, the wing should just slide off. at least mine did.

 

There are two pop clips on the tips of the wing too.

 

The wing is held on by several bolts that have nuts that secure the spoiler to the body and the weather seal cap on the antenna also must be removed to take the spoiler off. Check every attachment point and insure that all nuts and fasteners are removed before you try to lift it off the body. If there is any resistance, don't pull any more. let it go and determine the cause of the resistance, it is probably an attachment you haven't found or completely loosened.

 

o well. i didnt take it off, i wanted to repaint it. this new krylon fusion spray paint works wonders people. it looks better than new.
