I've had my share but nothing I couldn't handle, nor serious..
Quite frankly it's really reliable considering I (was) driving it bone stock with all original parts from 1986.

Aside from my shitty exhaust which has been making a habit of breaking 2-3 times a week(usually hangers), my car is as reliable as it gets. Ive had one problem other than my exhaust in the past 2 months, and that was just a clutch master cylinder. I never have engine problems.

Mine makes a great daily driver. Amazing since I bought it from a lady who had let it sit for over 4 years. All I had to do was clean the tank, replace the fuel pump and filter and go. The clutch master and slave cylinders had to be replaced and only recently have problems arisen. Need a battery and the driver's side headlight won't pop now. (I also have the 3800 rpm hesitation)

It only breaks when I try to upgrade stuff. Like putting in a strut bar. Upgrading the stereo. Changing to aftermarket sway bars. Changing some heater hoses(not necessarily an upgrade as much as preventative maintenance). It's taken some extra time to modify my car because every $100 in performance upgrades results in $150+ in repairing periferals. Ahhh... the joys of owning a rotary

Never had a problem with mine,
I have only needed to do basic things like new breaks new fluids and other small maintenance things. i got her at 130 000 km and she still runs perfect at 180 000km. knock on wood.....

I have to say that this is a dumb *** poll. Anyone who reads this board with regularity (AND USES THE SEARCH FUNCTION) knows the score. Better maintained cars are more reliable and the inverse is also true. TII's have a few more issues than NA's. Factor in your driving habits and you have your answer.
Yes I know some spinner will say, My dad had this car since new and this or that broke. Just my $0.02 worth.

To not expect parts to fail on a 15+yo car is extremely daft. To me, a car is reliable if it doesn't let you down unexpectly. This has only ever happened once in nearly three years (clutch). I'm happy with that.

when i got my coupe it needed its 90k tune-up - replaced all the hoses and belts. replaced the shitty tires and a breaking engine mount, and that's all it's needed. remarkably reliable, if you ask me.

umm when my car moved..there wasnt really to much stuff to brake that wasnt not working...i just never got around to finding the short thats making my gauge cluster not work and my throttle would get stuck which i would solve with some wd40...other than that for a car modded out the *** it was reliabe as ****...horrible on gas but it would start every morning .

the list is getting shorter
still broken:
cruise
rear defog
clock comes and goes
low fuel light
still leaking oil
no outside keys work except trunk (but had alarm put in with door lock actuators)
no heater core or heat, but in FL so who cares
gas smell

Since i got my N/A in August and finally got it running, the stupid things fail on me. When i fix the thing that fail the other thing failed on me. I still need to do a compression test to see if my motor is shot.

My 89 vert is a very reliable car, it starts right up even in the morning when it is coldest. I love it, its a great car, only thing I have had to do is clean the 5th & 6th ports sleave. (kind of a bitch to take apart the whole intake)
