Is this how to properly prep an rx7 for paint?

wet sanding with 600 grit, how do i know when the clearcoat is gone? when the paint feels rough and dull?

You want it to look dull. After using 600 wet sand up to 1200. most people take some spray paint and lightly put it on and sand untill its gone . When your done you want it to look really dull and be very smooth
