How to Polish

I just wanted to know how to polish. I wanted to polish a few things on my engine and I'm wondering what chemical you use. I don't have any buffer so I think I will have to do it by hand. Any comments would be nice. Thanks fellas (or ladies)

Your best bet would be to use a wire brush wheel, attached the your drill. Why polish on top of carbon, gunk etc?

After doing this, It will display a pristine finish.

For the actual polishing compound nothing works better then "semichrome". This stuff is kind of hard to find though, around here the place to get it is "Orchard Supply and Hardware".
