Time based, every 3 months. I've never put on the 5000km in 3 months, but I would likely change it at that or a bit earlier if I put bigger numbers on the car. The idea is that if you're not putting millage on the car it's usually heavy city driving.

The beater: never. I just add a quart every day or two.
(leaks like a bitch)
the 7: never. Only put 50 miles on it in all the time I've had it. I'll probably get it every 5000km tho.

As soon as it starts getting dark - works out to about every 2.5 months. I drive my 7 a lot, every day, btw.

I've started using the K&N oil filter - don't know what to say about it yet. Packaging looks impressive.

between 1500 and 2000 miles. The oil in a rotary engine seriously takes a beating. 2/3 of the cooling is through the coolent, and 1/3 through the oil. Not a good idea to leave it in to long. especially if you run you motor hard or have a turbo.
