oh if your pop starting the car make sure you have the key turned to the on position or else the car wont start. Sounds dumb i know but cmon i think everyone here has done that at least once if they have ever had to pop start thier car i know i did it last week lol. Make sure when you pressure wash and or steam clean that you cover stuff with plastic baggies just to be on the safe side and deffinately keep the car running if you want it to actually start it up again or else it can take awhile. I just had a similar problem with my starlet but i just hosed the motor off and it started actin all janky and **** took a LONG time and a lot of driving in one night (not to mention holding traffic up while my car wont start at a light after it dies) it will be ok if you havent got it started yet just keep trying and it will go eventually unless something else decided to take a dump on ya.

ok got her started today, just did the easy de-flooding method( pretty sure i have leaking injectors). i let her warm up and started to rev her a little bit. she sounds like shes running on one rotor!! i couldn't get her to rev past 4500 rpm!! white smoke that doesn't smell sweet, smells like raw fuel! what could be causing this????

BTW i checked and made sure the plug wires were on the right plugs

in conjunction with a weak compression engine. It's common for s4's.

I have pressure washed hundreds of motors in my day, key is to start them up right after you clean them so they can dry, then to spray them down with a good protectant spray.

I pressure wash every RX7 motor I get my hands on- they all still run today.

I have never cleaned a running motor, and I always start with a cold motor

^^ while that may have worked for you in the past it is not smart to steam clean or pressure wash a motor that isnt running, sometimes it will work great and you wont get any water in places it shouldnt be but all it takes is one time and you have electrical gremlins. That is why i always clean with the motor running now plus it actually helps it get cleaner because the grit comes off easier.

Not saying that what your doing doesnt work or anything jsut that i used to do it that way and had one too many problems with electrical. I've never had anything happen if i am runnning the motor while i clean because it helps evaporate the water before it can penatrate any connectors and get stuff wet.

No kidding I used to wash 2-3 motors a day when I had a detail shop.
I guess I got VERY lucky that they all started right up and had no problems!
