How much of the rear fenders can i CUT

so i have this fiberglass wide body kit sitting around forever, it got like front fenders, and the whole rear fender and stuff
and i just found a perfect FC body that should go well with it,
i want to cut down some weight while i am at it
question is, as title, how much of the rear fender i can cut without affecting the structure and stuff ?

Well, not too much really, the 1/4's are quite structurally intergral.

You could trim off some from the inner 1/4 (accessed through the hatch interior) but really not oo much off the outside, and really you probably only approx. 10-20 lbs worth to trim from the inside, short of cutting it all out and putting a cage in.

There's not a whack of weight to trim from back there, only a tad.

what, you want some pics of the inside of a rex's hind 1/4's?

Here, I misplaced the ones of the left side, but its the sme minus the filler neck surrounding. As you can see by the one of the new 1/4, the out piece is just skin (obviously) but the skin is attached around its whole perimeter so by removing say for example, the wheel well pinch weld, you are losing the strength of the whole piece effectively.

Now Im not saying the car will flex into a pretzel if you cut some of your 1/4 off but its all there for ridgity and saftey because fiberglass doesn't help much in a collision.
