I've been trying to figure out why my engine smokes a bit under load and consumes oil. It's a pretty fresh rebuild. I read that non-ball bearing turbo's need about 1.6-2.0 litres of oil at idle. Mine is getting over 4 litres. Is that too much? If so, does anyone know what size restrictor I should use? I'm running a 1/4" feed line.

 

Stock opr front and rear?

a non BB garrett turbo requires a restrictor after 60psi op measured AT the inlet to the turbo.

You could start with a .100" restrictor, however chances are you have other problems...
