how much $$ to hit 13's on a n/a

yes the other turbo thread gave me a idea to start this thread. i am trying to do the same as him break into the 13's.

Current mods, koni adjustable front shocks, tokico rear shocks, eibach springs, rb header, 2 1/2 single exhuast with high flow cat n a muffler, cold air intake

this winter my plans stand as street porting, lighter/wider rims, custom widebody kit, obviously full tuneup, performance plugs and wires, i am guting the back end of the car (its a daily driver driver, so i am leaving heat/ac, dash, door panels, glass.)

what else do i need? i know i will be far from breaking 13's.
electric fan, lightened pulleys, remove power steering,?

you're guna need a bridge port, standalone ems and a gutted interior if youre determined to hit the 13's without a turbo.
at least in my estimation

nope...dont need massive porting or anything. Get good tires, a good clutch/pressure plate, and a 100 shot. i was running 14.0 @100 but the clutch was slipping on each shift and the tires were spinning through 3rd.

yeah i forgot about NOS, but with the re-build budget you are inevetiably going to tap into running a hundred shot, you could just go turbo.

id say, exhaust, carb setup, fairly large street port, and you would be close, top it off with a bottle and you would be into 13's

Put the engine onto a go-kart frame, you should be able to hit 13s.

ditch the widebody idea, way too much weight and not necessary. and uprade your clutch to the ACT street/strip setup

It's one shared by many. But we rotary owners are the type that like to do things differently.

KrazyConcepts...Seems like poeple on this forum dont know crap when it comes to N/A Tuning.

Mild Street port
Stand Alone ECU
Intake and Headers
Act Clutch
Drag Radials

Thier and its street legal besides the Header Silencer wich nobody will know until smog day. You can swap it
This should be good for 13.99 or better for S5 cars only but make sure you have some small weight reduction and do some of the mods that I have in my Sig. My car was hitting 8500rpms easy with that setup and no streetporting or standalone.
My friend in his 86 N/A had a stock 160k mile engine with intake exaust and stand alone (gutted interior) and he was hitting 14.3 here in cali

Full intake, exhaust, gutted interior, removed emissions, slicks, and 4.88's would definetly hit 13's.

For 13s all I believe you would need is:

Streetport
Cold air intake
header/exhaust
a little weight reduction
Apexi SAFC, tuned
ported intake manifold
you will need an aftermarket clutch
a pair of slicks and good driver

Or you could go carb'd, which would be cheaper and simpler, but youd have to put up with it being carb'd.

Screw nitrous, thats cheating if you ask me, well so are slicks

I would listen to this guy; he's been in the mid-low 14's with a lot less stuff than that done to his car.

Well, you are starting off with the wrong N/A car. A stock port GSL-SE with the RB carb set-up and RB dual exhaust set-up ran just under 14 seconds, do a search in the 1st gen section. I would imagine a 2nd gen n/a with a similar set-up with weight reduction or a large streetport should get you there.
