I've had to change mine out before. Pretty simple but a little pricey since it's an important electrical unit... Are you sure it's the TPS only and not some other vacuum leak?

i'd test the tpe PROPERLY with a dmm before dumping the cash on a new one. that being said, i got my new one from napa which was cheaper then anywhere else, even online vendors.

clean it? not really.

90% of TPS problems are due to them not being adjusted properly. They are VERY FINICKY!

adjustments on my tps came down to barely touching the adjustment screw with the screwdriver and that would be the difference between a smooth ride and random lurching hesitations that made it feel like the engine was going to explode.

I just ordered mines, My car was running fine till I took it to a shop to get a few things looked at. The shop adjusted my TPS now my car is all finicky. CEL is on when I'm off the gas, Cold Start stopped working and the car doesn't seem to run right. When I brought back the car to the shop, they said because the TPS is shorted internally, they can't adjust it back to where it was originally (prior to shop visit). Leads me to believe maybe they did something wrong because I didn't have those problems before coming to the shop...
