My original made it to about 114,000 befor the oil rings failed. My current engine (swap) has about 100,000 on it and purrs like a kitten.

Interesting.

Mine still pulls pretty well, I expect it'll need a rebuild sometime soon... but no problems whatsoever right now...

156k

Of course I picked it up 3k miles ago... so I can't vouch for before that... but I have doubts it was rebuilt ever.

122K and runs great
especially now that it has new motor mounts
of course I need to get used to shifting again
since the tranny isn't rolling around anymore

86k broken apex seal chewed up its rotor and related housing. I think it was broken or on its way out when I bought the car unknowingly at 82k. Current rebuild has close to 80k and it's running great.

156 before it craped out on my automatic vert, it is my theroy that s5 engines generally do not last as long as s4's because of the different omps, where a s4 omp is mechanical and dumps oil rather generously the s5 is a bit more conservative as the ecu injects oil following mathmatical processes from the data it recieves from various engine sensors. im no huge expert but from what i have gathered and heard from local rotary dudes it makes sense to me.

My car's original engine lasted about 148,000 KM's before it got rebuilt. That was fine with me though, I bought it 3000km's later!

I may be one of the only ones who should have voted as I actually HAVE and S5 N/A WITH THE ORIGINAL MOTOR. Did anyone even read the title of this thread? JUST KIDDING NO FLAMES NECESSARY.

90' GTU 74k on the original motor:
-No smoke
-No hard starts
-Still burns oil at the appropriate rate
-consistant compression on all faces at over 100psi all around.
-Just dyno'd at 175 rwhp on dynojet and 147 rwhp on a mustang dyno
