Cool

mint condition doesnt necessarily have to mean "stock form" mint condition means sumthing is in perfect condition. if u look closely, those the the areo mirrors, from the factory. the front lip of course is an add on. mine is a TRUE 10th AE. yes i did sum exterior mods but thats all. other then that, my vehicle is in "mint" condition.

p.s. if ur interested in looking at the emblems or steering wheel or anything else, i can post them at ur request. i have every neatly packed away.

That's where you are WRONG... If your 10AE isn't Crystal White then it's not in "mint" condition... You have ruined the 10AE... Your car, the gods of Mazda, and everything that is good and true CURSE YOU for destroying what was once a beautiful car with some crappy blue paint...

I've got one, not even close to mint, by either definition Some hail damage (4 or5 spots) and peeling paint. It also has a half bridge motor with a Haltech and Precision T63, so it'll keep up with traffic. If I keep it (it's for sale by the way) then I will probably do the necessary body work and paint it in the fall. 91k on the car, less than 1k on the motor.

Mine is hardly what you'd call mint, it's got a lot of small dings and scrapes.

Plus if you look closely at the pic, you'll see it has S5 mirrors - the drivers side mirror got smashed, and I replaced them both with used S5 mirrors. I like the view out the later ones better, the low drag S4 mirrors were almost useless IMHO. Now the driver's side mirror got crunched again, the mirror's fine but there's a chunk out of it's shroud, I am ordering a new one in UC from Mazdatrix.

So for the record it wasn't totally externally stock even before the RPF-1s.

Once I am done with restoring/upgrading it mechanically, I will be getting some bodywork done and the car repainted. Crystal White UC of course

Last comes the interior, the leather seats really need some work.
I'm not sure where there is a leather shop around here though (northern NJ).

10th AE's should only be white, i can handle pearl white and such but no other color. Just my opinion.

Just bought my 10th AE a few months ago and immediately began working on it. It runs good with 131k on the odo. Very little rust on the body but the floor is a different story. Currently in the process of upgrading the suspension and doing the body work and paint(sorry folks I've owned too many white cars to keep it that color).

Then you should sell it to someone who actually cares about it's heritage, and buy another car...

I am glad I am on your good side with my engine bay.

Technically "mint" means untouched from factory there is only one in the world that comes closest to that definition and it is Johnnys "grace" as she is the closest to mint of any.

Mine is not mint but very unique I guess that could be said of yours also but Blue is a bastardization of the 10th.

Sorry Ice wolf. there is one on E-bay now. Just gotta keep on the look out. Most A.E.'s are basket cases. I got one of those too.

I have to give props to tinvester Buying a Mint car is one thing but building is another ( Ive done that with "Tiffany", not an A.E.)

Here's a pic of mine (from the previous owner)... Body is damn near mint other than the typical paint peel... It's gonna get a fresh respray though, and luckily it was a TX car so it has zero rust anywhere...

When I post pics of my own, it'll be a completely different monster...

No, mint condition means as perfect as if it rolled off the assembly line.

Mint= just Minted= just manufactured= brand new.

You might call your car in exceptional condition, or in good condition (or as it appears in the pictures to be in average condition), but mint means stock; just as it came from the factory.

and back to the thread originators question, I have a 10thAE that I am restoring.

Well see the thing is I was just in the market for a new project street car and I was told about this rx7. I only ended up paying $650 for the car which came with all the 10th AE stuff(except the original keys), an extra set of wheels, and brand new cross-drilled/slotted rotors and sbc green stuff brake pads, oh yeah, and the playboy from about 6 years ago that was tucked away in the spare tire compartment. 10th AE or not I have a hard time leaving any car stock for any amount of time.
