how to make hiper blinkers
I have been looking for hyper blinkers for my 87 rx7, and I can't find any. I am told that with some cars (hondas) you just get lower wattage bulbs and that sends a message to the computer that they have burnt out, so the computer makes the turn signal flash faster so that you know they are burnt out. But another idea is to get higher wattage bulbs so that more electricity flows through them. this would make electrons build up faster on the capacitor and theoretically make them flash faster....yeah right, this should all work, but thats what i thought with my turbo. I need some advice from someone SMART!!! thanks for any advice or suggestions.

when using your turn signal, don't press the lever to where it locks--only press it down far enough to make the lights blink. Now, tense your arm up so it has an epileptic fit. If you do it right, the lights will flash quickly, and erraticaly. It really freaks other people out.hehe
Sorry i can't give you a hardware solution..<G>

Try gotrice.com. This forum is for performance mods in my opinion, not rice. The blinkers work just fine as they are, and hyper blinkers really aren't going to make your car any faster, I promise.

If you use a different watt bulb, it should do it. When I replaced the bulbs in the front turn signals, I accidentally screwed them in the wrong way, but that made them do the fast blink also.

Haha, you're from SD?? No wonder you wanna do that. I used to live in Mira Mesa and every "racer" guy I know in North SD has that. It's one of the classic "racer" things along with:
-Single wiper conversion
-Black steelies in front
-Cut Springs w/ stock rims
I don't recomend these things for your RX-7 though, but it "looks" "racer" though.

my left blinker in my rx7 '87 blinks fast and my right one blinks normal...So im sure you can make it blink faster by shorting something out...My car is in a bad need of re soldering of all the solder points - its never been done before.

Man, are you sure you want to do the fast blinker thing? Around town the ONLY people I see with the hyper blinkers are Riceboys buzzing around in the civics, etc. If they cant make their CAR faster than you, they can at least make their blinkers faster than yours...

hey, i figured out the blinker thing. i know some of the rice boys have them. Think of it like this.... some guy in his muscle car pulls up to the line thinkin im a ricer boy. i turn the blinker off, rev my engine, and then i hopefully kick his a**. a ricer is someone with stickers and lights and all that ****, but ive got something under the hood as well.

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
All I see when I see cars with those fast blinkers, is that they have a burnt out bulb, or broken wires.

Am I cool?
I drive a 97 Camry everydaywith an erratic blinker due to a blown bulb...I had no idea I was in stylle!! Screw fixing it...Im selling my Turbo ll and using the proceed to get a bunch of stickers, all clear lights, a t.v. screen, washer lights, neons, and a ridiculously HUGE spoiler. Lets not forget the coffe can axhaust tip and cold air intake! These are the things that make a 4 cylinder automatic Toyota fast...these are the things from which dreams are made!

well....okay, I know how to do the fast blinkers...lets just say it has something to do with you opening up the relay that controls the blinkers and a resistor...
