Looking to buy an exhaust for a '91 NA.
How LOUD is the true dual set up from Mazdatrix on a scale of 1-10?

1=nobody notices
5=everyone looks up when you cruise by
10=car alarms go off when you go by

 

I'd like to find out too.. I really can't hear my exhaust on my TurboII to know when to shift without looking at the gauge (well.. only been driving it for under a week still, but..) I'm used to driving my '92 Civic that had a TASTEFUL exhaust, I could at least hear it pretty well.

So yeah.. how loud is the TurboII full exhaust?

 

HAHA. Your looking at a 10 with any True Dual exhaust.

TII exhaust is a tad quieter.

 

Really... 10.. is it still Damn loud on a T2?

 

Well, if you use their prsilencers, it goes down to about a 7. My Turbo back RB isnt annoyingly loud.

actually I just saw a S5 TurboII with the full Racing Beat exhaust drive by twice, not too loud.. only thing I really noticed was the smell.. sucker smells like my race car goooooo no cats!!

Or perhaps the collected header/presilencer set up?

 

True duals is for n/a applications ONLY. True duals meaning they NEVER collect from each exhaust port to the exit. NOW, that being said, the true dual exhaust from Mazda Trix is not that loud if your running a n/a STOCK port. I'd rate a 7-8 on the loud scale. Now if your running a PORTED n/a motor with true duals its LOUD!! (a 10) The Mazda Trix mufflers are quiter then the racing beat ones. As far as the full RACING exhaust for the turbo II's there very quiet on a STOCK turbo II. Again if your running a ported motor the loudness goes WAY up. (I'd give the full racing turbo II PORTED loudness a 6)

 

The RB exhaust with the pre-silencer is a little bit louder then the factory exhaust at idle. You really notice the volume as you get up in the RPMs. If you want power without waving the flag (HEY EVERYONE LOOK AT ME) then get the RB. If you want loud then get the Apexi N1 but I like the new CorkSport exhaust. Everyone says it is loud and it is all SS.

I have the RB 3" full exhaust system on a ported engine in my TII and it's extreamly quite. I have never had a stock exhaust on it but I figure it's pretty close to stock db levels. Quite nice if you ask me.
I like loud exhausts under power, but loud all the time even idle in a rotary just gets anoying after a few minutes!
