How Long Will My Engine Last?
I HAVE AN 87 SE WITH 110K ON IT. I BABY IT AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS EXCEPT FOR THE STANDARD STUFF. DOES ANYONE KNOW APPOX. HOW LONG THIS ENGINE COULD LAST?
THANKS
THANKS
I have heard of n/a engines lasting over 200,000 miles, or less than 100,00 miles. It just depends on how much you baby it, how often you change the fluids, how hard you drive it. Not an easy answer. Rotaries die when they see fit. Just keep on babying it, and she will be good for many more miles to come!!!
hehehe, yea it will last a while
my 86 has 174k on the engine and still running great, i dont baby it to say the least, i redline it more everyday than you have fingers or toes, i race it almost every day, then again i change plugs and oil every 1500 miles, and coolant every 5k miles. it gets a new cone filter about every 2 months, i dont have enuff to buy a KNN lol.

I've got 193K on an original motor. Runs like the day it was born. Just keep the fluids changed and stay on top of regular maintenance - and I mean, religiously...
Don't baby it too much. Open that puppy up once in awhile to keep carbon from building up in the rotor housings.
