How long to close for YOUR sunroof??

Just regreased the tracks on my sunroof rails. Used to take forever to close but now, it does it in approx 9.5 secs to close. Just wondering if this is normal or too slow/too fast.

Anyways, how many secs does it take for yours to fully close?

Mine takes a while because it likes to stall midway though then start back up again.

haha, mine takes as long as my garage door. It also stalls halfway, isn't it supposed to do that?

When/IF my sunroof works it opens for 5" and gets stuck.... cliiiiiiiickkkkk. If I help it close, I can get it closed again... so that would be 1.5 mins for 5" ) Have a really nice motor from an '88 and have yet to install it.

Yeah mine does that to sometimes.

And I don't know if this is normal, but once mine gets up in the back it then stops moving as if it has died. Then if you push the button again it opens up just fine. And I think it is made that way because it feels so smooth, and is always in the exact same place.

Mine opens ok, except you have to push up on it while holding the button to get it to move. Once it flips up it goes back very well, and closing is never a problem. Anyone know what causes this? Is the motor weak or do I just have to clean the tracks?

Hmm...I have to push it up while pressing the button to get it to open too. I thought this was normal. Guess not.

No other car I've been in that has a sunroof needed help to open it. It may be normal, but I doubt it. Also, the little deflector thingy that sits at the front of the sunroof doesn't flip up on it's own on my car. All the springs and such seem to be there and in good shape, but it just doesn't work. I sprayed some WD-40 on it, but it didn't help. Any ideas on that?

mine is proportional to the rain. The harder the rain is coming down, the slower the close.

mine opens and closes well but does require the slight push to get it started up. the pause between going fully up and then moving back is normal.

"normally" it should need no help to get it up, this is the seals shifting and sticking and can be cured with cleaning and redoing the sunroof seals.

I read on this forum long ago a write up of how to redo the seal but can't find it now.

Spray the tracks with silicone spray lube, it'll be like new after a few runs no pushing it up on down anymore

depends on how long it takes me to get the manual crank out of the glove box, and how tired my arm gets in between the 200 cranks! lol
