How the hell do you disassemble an S4 power mirror?!?!?

Ihave a power mirror (s4) that is busted, I bought a working I've but it is flat black instead of pz (brilliant black) . It stands to reason that it should be easier to swap the internals than to color match the mirror housing. Only problem is there ate apparently 4 screws holding it in and only 3 of them can be accessed by humans... So if anyone haread done insight as to how to remove this piece of poorly engineered village, please speak up...

Do you have the glass removed?

if I could remove the glass there wouldn't be a problem. The I've got 3 screws out the upper right, lower right and lower left. The mirror doesn't have enough range of motion to even see where the last screw is, much less remove it.

ok... I got mine apart....

First you will need a hair dryer.

Heat up the mirror face, this will cause the adhesive holding it in to soften. Then CAREFULLY "wiggle" a piece of dental floss between the plastic backing of the mirror and the mirror. Once you get the floss about 1/3 of the way down you can pull the floss towards you, The mirror should start to pull away and from there just pull it apart.

That's where the heat gun or hair dryer comes into play as already suggested.

In my case, my car was repainted and the housing on the car is in perfect shape, there mirror just crapped out. It should be far easier to swap the working mirror parts than to duplicate quality paint w/ a rattle can...

Quit killing birds and worry about the hornets (unless you're Tippi Hedren).
