next thing you know, someone's gonna want fc3s.org to make a carbon fiber door. hell, i'll be that person. i'll be first in line.. ...to say "i cant afford it right now."
that'd be hot, though. if it was a 2-piece mold. make the door plus the interior panel. haha, i'm not a carbon fiber junkie (you know who i'm talkin about), but that would probably shave some weight. maybe i'm just tired.

Well, there is all kinds of "Unnessisary" "Saftey supports" in the doors. I'd just cut them out to save some weight. Just think, if you never get hit on the side or hit hard enough to go up on the side, or hit and pushed sideways into something, why would you need them?

Seriously, I haven't weighed them, but when i had them off to repaint, and they're going to be a little more than 65 I think... I didn't weigh them or anything, but they were sorta weighty.. Might want to drop a line to a guy named Russ (handle: Russ) He's in the middle of painting his car, maybe he has the doors off? I dunno..

Those safety supports are definatly there for a reason. The doors don't hold up to much as is, and generally end up getting pushed into the seat. Why in the hell would you want to cut them out thinking they're unneeded!? Now, I'm pretty sure the fc3s.org doors aren't going to be 'streetable' in the sense that they won't be a pretty safe replacement for street driving.

hahaha, you crack me up. i think i deserve a free one just for the publicity. okay, maybe a picture of one. free email newsletter? i'm not gonna get anything, am i? oh well, i still love you guys.
speaking of which, what will the door look like? was i close on the 2-part thing? i'd say it'd be cool if the indoor panel was also carbon fiber, but i'd imagine sweating on that would be nasty. and your skin would grip it. i can't wait to see the door! the picture on your site, of course..

It will be 2 part, with carbon inside and out. It will be for race cars though, and you can bet that they will come with a disclaimer against using them on the street Most people who use them will have door bars in their cage (at least they should!) and the bars will actually go into the doors. Lexan will be the window of choice if used on them.

would the window be movable or would it be fixed position or what because it would be cool to have like a cf door with a lexan window that goes up and down like the factory piece. just my .02

Carbon fiber doors would be a good idea. They won't ding like metal will.

Are the cf fenders gonna be wide body That'd be cool, but not some crappy widebody like most of them, more like stock fenders that have been rolled out a little more, so slight widebody.

Sonic - I was just joking around, man I was mocking some of the people of the "remove anything that isn't engine, tranny or wheels for weigh reduction!" school. That's why I put it in quotes than started the next paragraph with "Seriously,...". I think you've been hanging out here too much, go take a walk to escape forum people for a bit

I may be wrong, as I've never done this, but I don't think you're gonna care how heavy the actual door is. I think you'd really want to know how hard the 'pull' is, right?

They would be designed for fixed lexan, because there isn't a person here who would pay for roll up hardware to be developed for the door because it would be so expensive.

The fenders will probably be about 2" wider than stock with the same lines to them as stock. Pretty much like the Mariah fenders but CF

fc3s.org - would it be possible to install electric window hardware easily? i am completely ignorant of the system as i've never removed or dealt with it, but it seems as though it wouldn't take a magician to install power windows.
