All JDM motors are turbo motors whereas A-spec motors could either be turbo or naturally aspirated. Also, the J-spec motors have some minor emission differences from the A-spec motors.

By the way, a search would have revealed what I just posted as well.

first of all a 89 T2 is rare and if the body and interior are ing good shape you should consider it. A good S5 will fetch $5k or better.

A JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) motor is like a used engine from a wrecking yard in Japan. From what I have been told like 8 out of 10 of them are good. Its a gamble because you dont know how long it sat (apex seals stuck) or how it was cared for (coolant and oil changed regularly). So it could be a good deal or a bad deal. Which always makes me wonder why the dude goes to all the trouble putting the JDM motor in just to sell it. A motor rebuild could cost $2k and up plus labor. Is there a warranty on the motor ? If so I would want to confirm it personally.
