Cold: start and then manually rev to ~2300 for about 45 seconds, it idles fine after that (standalone: still tuning)

hot, if I need to start it, I just poke my head in the window, turn the key on and it starts up flawlessly. Mine doesn't have a clutch switch.

S4TII btw

i get into my car put key on.... flip a couple of switches...

then i walk out side with my "speed handle" ratchet with a socket that fits my crank bolt... and then i spin the engine over by hand and then it goes braappp.... brrraaaapp.... buzzz.z.z.z..z.z.z..z.z.z.z. it lives!..

and back to reality i turn on my fuel pump, turn on my electric system, unlock the steeringwheel with the key and push button starter...

ok.. i dont have push button starter.... i just turn key and it starts but i do have switches for everything else.

Haha, this thread is funny. Some of you..

I will soon hook up an autostart to my 88 manual so I can let it warm out without going out there. As long as the neutral safty switch works, the car shouldn't start while in gear.

Yeah, the key method seems to work well. :p
Sometimes I just let it roll down the driveway and let off the clutch pedal though.

i leave it in neutral with the e-brake on, but for safety reasons I push the clutch in and rev it immediately because she occasionally dies on startup

Arrow

I get in depress the clutch, make sure shes in neutral and then turn the key 3/4 of the way to start it. My ignition colum is bad so if I turn it all the way it wont start. Then I wait till ti reads good oil pressure and the thermowax releases (idle drops) before driving off.

Hope all you guys saying this are knocking on wood directly after clicking "Submit Reply"

Mine starts up when it's cold everytime, but you have to give it some gas till it's warmed up. Hopefully this will get better soon because I'm putting my BAC back on. Also, when the Rtek 2.1 update comes out...it should have ability to tune fuel @ idle....so that should help as well.

Hot starts are hit and miss, sometimes it starts, and other times I gotta flip the fuel cut switch and crank it...or use the fuel cut in the rtek....but the manual switch works faster for some reason?

it's a very complicated multi-step process

1. walk out to FC
2. unlock door and open
3. get in and strap up harness
4. apply sun-blocking device to face
5. put tranny in neutral
6. engage clutch and turn key
7. cover ears as car idles an one billon and a half rpm
8. hit switched to turn on gauges, etc...
9. turn on ipod and put headphones in earholes while waiting for car to warm up
10. ride off into the sunrise as my loud *** exhaust screams bloody murder and awakens my neighbors from dreams of sugar plums and pornstars.

the end.

Get in car.
Depress clutch
Put car in neutral
Turn Key
Let it warm up and drive away.

-30? Start it the same way. Never flooded it yet.

Right I hate RX-7's so it's only natural to have owned over 15 of them. Whatever ***.

And FWIW the N/A FC's and FD's didn't have half the hotstart issues the TII FC's did. And it was a joke. Nice horse you got there.
