How do you install the e-brake kill on a TT??

I have the apexi TT, how am I suppose to install the e-brake kill function??? the directions are useless!

Take apart the arm rest. At the base of the ebrake there is a little red wire, splice the TT ebrake wire into that. When I did it it made my friggin ebrake light stay on all the time on the idiot cluster. I redid the connection 5 times, couldnt fix it. I cant get that friggin light to go out so I just grounded both wires to the frame and called it a day.
