How do you free a stuck side seal?

I really just want to know if their is any way to un stick a side seal? I'm pretty sure my rear rotor has a messed up side seal. I have to do a compression test tonight. But I have tried the MMO fix and it did not give me compression back. A reputable rotary shop told me I could have a FLAT SIDE SEAL? is that possible?. I'm going to try the ATF trick next I figure I have nothing to loose. the car floods every time I try to start it, and when i get it started it has a rough idle (like it is missing really bad). the motor shakes like the timing is off but its not. when driving it it has full power, but its just that it won't start unless you pull the fuel pump relay.

has any one driven the 7 around with a bad side seal? how long b4 the engine takes a dump on me complelty? it only has 84k on it. 87T2. thanks

Best way i can think of to fix it is to tear it apart and just rebuild it man. Good luck.

It's not a good thing to do, because the end plate may wear unevenly, but you also get lots of carbon and blowby where the seal is gone.
It also permits the rubber oil seal to essentially be exposed to the combustion chamber, not good!!!!
