how do i use remote start but still have a functional clutch switch on a manual?
im installing an alarm system in my car with remote start. i dont want to disable the clutch switch. but i want to be able to use the remote start. so basically, how do i set it up so that by key you need the clutch, but by remote you do not?
sounds complex....starting a 5speed requires depressing the clutch... you could disable the clutch saftey like you mention... not too safe just don't start it with the car in gear (duh!)
i think it MAY be possbile however, I'd just stick to getting in and starting it... i like it that way

What you need to find is a neutral switch. hook the neutral switch up to the rs, and allow it to bypass the clutch switch with a solenoid if needed.
My gslse had a neutral switch that controlled the accelerated warm up. It would only use aws if the trans was in nuetral and the clutch was depressed. Don't know if the fc's have them though

Covered countless times...
You simply hook the starter output from the remote start, after the clutch lock out switch.
The clutch lock out switch is on the clutch pedal. Simply hook up the starter wire output to the starter side of the clucth lock out switch.
And as mentioned above, do not install the remote start without hooking up the Nuetral safety switch from the transmission to the remote starts neutral safety input. It will prevent the remote start from activating when the car is in gear.
