How do I set engine timing to TDC?

they dont make you mess with the timing...people just interpreted the instructions wrong...if id read them sooner i could have known...yeah you have to set timing at 750-800 rpms. you could always adjust the idle like this on the kit just to set it, then fix it when u were done.

Timing can always get messed up during the install of this (read CAN not WILL) and what I was just getting at is when you're done you really should check it, but you can't really at where they want you to set your idle.

They really shouldn't have thrown the word "timing" in there, because they just meant that they want you to set the engine to TDC when you take off the crank pulley, no ignition timing involved at all. Don't worry, I didn't change my ignition timing.

well when it says set timing to top dead center i assume they mean set the timing...

if it said set the motor to tdc i would have done that.

im glad i didnt touch my timing, i havent had any pings yet, just belt slip

no, i guarantee you they dont. there is no reason to EVER set ignition timing to TDC. i wish i had read those instructions sooner to cut down on the confusion, but take my word for it, you DO NOT want to set your ignition timing to TDC. that is just a poorly worded statement in the instructions, thats all.
