How do I get a siezed caliper piston out?

I'm rebuilding all of my calipers. One of the front caliper pistons (4 pot) wont come out. Ive used compressed air with blocks of wood holding the other 3 pistons in place but that didn't work. Any ideas?

If you haven't already opened up the rest of the system, you could try using the brake system pressure to blow it out. Messy, but effective.

Yeah, apparently the price of the 4 pots have dropped big time....

Just keep at it man...it will come out I am sure.....

How much air pressure are you using?

Try cranking it up to 100psi

Just make sure the piston has some place soft to hit.

If the piston is seized to the point where compressed air wont budge it, chances are that there will be quite a lot of pitting and corrosion on the piston and chamber. Even if you do get it out, it will more than likely be in such a sorry state that rebuilding it wouldn't be advisable. I'd rebuild the other 3 and buy yourself a remanned unit to replace that one.

Tried 100psi and still won't budge, going to NAPA tomorrow to look into these calipers that are supposedly $38.
