How do I find TDC by removing pulleys

I've searched and searched around the forums and haven't found a clear answer as to how to do it. I have removed my pulleys and I see the bump drilled into the casting that the pulleys bolt on to, is that bump the TDC mark on the engine? TDC would be 90 deg to the left of that mark?

if you have the front pulley flange on the motor then why dont you just put a pulley on it?

yea putting the pulley on is the easiest way. the bolt holes on the pulley are offset so it'll only go on one way.

So far I have read that TDC would be the 2 even bolts line up with the timing pin on my S4. But if that is only a ballpark then I want to do it the right way. I'm trying to hook up a modded cas for my megasquirt.

Ok I figured out where TDC is but what about the rotation of the engine, does it matter what 360deg it is on when you set TDC?
