One of them drive fine, then just went. My other was overheated, so thats that. Most of the time they just go without warning, one of the things i hate about these motors.

I pinged mine, but lifted immediately, and got a cracked apex seal with no spit out parts.
It still runs fine but has a rhythmic miss at idle, with low rear compression on 2 faces.
J-spec is on its way.
(And it WILL get a ported waste gate)

What happens when your average rotary goes out anyways? Do the apex seals just shatter, or do they wear to a point where they all of a sudden don't seal enough for compression any more?

The other common damage cause is overheating, which leads to excessive oil consumption.

when I start my car up it rhythmically misses a little. After it warms up it's fine. I think it's just that cars typically run a little richer when cold though. Am I wrong? Should I try to check my compression?

My coolant line to the turbo broke and all the coolant poored out of my car, I was at a stop light when the add coolant buzzer came on...so i pulled over and coolant was everywhere.
The next day it started right up...but when I drove it for like 30 mins and then let it cool down and then say like 5 mins later get back in, it would just flood like a mother f*cker. Took like 6 trys to unflood one time. About a month later it flooded and when i was driving I heard some hesitations and could go to redline for some reason...then 1 week later it blew the front rotor...196,000 orignal miles though...can't complain at that...
