I know i have posted in the past about this, but my temp guage jumps, 5 or so degrees with ignition, 10 with a/c and almst 10 with my headlights. so about 25 degrees off in some situations. i ran a nice fat ground wire so thats good. but what can i tap into to fix the inaccuracys? or is there a power cell or something i can use? power for it is drawn off the cig. lighter everyone uses.

Run your gauge off a regulated power supply...if you're serious about doing this.
The reason why the needle jumps is due to sagging or spiking voltage.
Having good grounds will minimize this, but I still notice it on my gauges.

Else, try purely mechanical gauges?

Not to thread hijack, but if a volt gauge was doing the same thing and jumping up and down when you use the turn signal, the best approach would be to start with a better ground? Exact thing is happening on my Chevy truck (hey, it was in the family!). When the volt gauge isn't jumping, it sits at 19V, although my multimeter reads 14. Ted? Anyone else with input, much appreceated.
