How big turbo?
How big in what way?
You can 'run' any size turbo you want, as long as it fits and you have the proper manifold for it.
But, whether the car is driveable is another question.
Basically, you are just being to vague to give you an answer...

Ok from your profile you have a GXL. If you mean going turbo from the N/a car its not going to be easy. I suggest you read the site that Aaron Cake has. He personally did that(adding a Turbo to the N/a engine). I don't know much more about this but I wouldn't think anything bigger than the stock turbo and IC would be good. The N/a has high compression compared to the TIi engine so it needs more cooling to stay away from the dreded detonation.

I am not looking to turbo my car, yet anyway
. My roommate has a rather large turbo he got from his summer co-op and I was wondering if it would be possible for someone to put it in a -7-. It's a T70 or something, I don't remember.

No point in trying to make turbo kits. No one would buy them.
