how bad would it be? need some input.

so i plan on dropping my tranny with a lil help from a friend, but i can't right NOW. i'm gonna have to wait a month or two... maybe more.then i'm gonna take it over to a tranny shop and have them replace the pilot and throwout bearing. then put it back in myself.

my question is, how long can i go with worn bearings? will it hurt other parts of the tranny if i just leave it there for a couple of months?

one more thing. is it possible to replace the bearings myself? or should i have someone who knows what they're doing do it?

you probably would need a pilot bearing puller to get the pilot bearing out but the throwout bearing is easy. if you can take the tranny out you should be able to replace the throwout bearing.
