How bad is it to over rev the engine?

mis-shifted once and mine hit 8250 rpms according to my S-AFC. Didnt hurt a thing. Youll be fine. and im sure we've all seen the video of the jackass revving his car to 9k rpms ON ONE ROTOR for like 10 min before it takes a dump.

Actually, he later said that the engine didn't take a dump... he ran out of gas.

Why? The redline might be 7k? 8k?. so what. The redline is the extreme maximum you should rev the engine. Holding it at redline can cause severe damage.
After you rev past your maximum HP curve what is the point? If you hear the rev alarm ease off it.

I would never by an RX7 from someone like you.

I can't see how that could be since the engine has no compression in the video after her tries to start it for the second time.

Plus if I remember right it was shooting smoke out of the oil filler neck.

why do people do this to the motor?

why would you do this?

does it make it less expensive to rebuild or more because your probly overheating alot of parts that wont be able to be whatever those dude were idiots

What if your car was automatic and you converted it to 5speed and there is not rev limiter. I can rev my car till it cant no more and there is no buzzer or anything stopping me. I dont really take it up taht high probably like 7k, after 6.5k its not really doing to much anywhoo
