How to adjust A Turbo XS RFL?

Hey guys, I have a RFL valve that I bought used. How can I adjust it? Its leaking at idle causing a nasty stumble when I stab the throttle.

Thanks, Ed

Can I just used regular washers since my valve came with no shims?

Thanks, Ed

Its all the way tight already and its still leaking at idle. My hand gets sucked in when placed over the discharge horn.

Thanks, Ed

yes, just use regular washers with a simillar outside diameter as the spring.

i have a turbo xs rfl and i thought the same thing.. what ever you do dont shim it tight it WILL wipe out your turbo.. i have 1 washer in mine for like 10ish lbs of boost. the vaccume that you feel ma be coming from the vaccumm line coming in.. try unplugging the line and than feel in fron of it for your leak if you dont have one you found the culprit.. but my guess is it is actually leaking by the cylnder from the top if that makes sense. no the actual charge pipe.

Thanks for the advice guys. This drove me nuts all day trying to figure it out. Anyways its not my valve thats casuing my problem coz I took the valve off and still had the problem. It pops and backfires from vac to boost.

Thanks, Ed

Those Valves suck a dick. My friend had one on his WRX that leaked like crazy no matter how many washers you put in. And there's a guy who recently did an SR swap in my town with a greddy FMIC and his rfl is leaking also and ******* up his idle. Get another Valve.

Turbo XS RFLs are fine. My friend boosts 28psi on his VR-4 with no leaks, he just has a shitload of washers in there.
