housing questions

I tor my motor down to rebuild today and the housings ront, side, and center) have pretty noticable goove marks in them, i need to get them resurfaced, I dont know where I can get this done, I live in belle,SD and If some one knows a local shop that does them or something. I dont think a normal machin shop can do them, correct me if im wrong.

Then my rotor housings are good but on the very edges all the way around is rough-ish is that a normal thing or do i need two new housings too, the apex seals were worn down but intact and smooth. I can get pics if that might help.

They are unusable and new ones will need to be purchased, you can lap the Irons but housings are replaceable item only. Without specing them out a simple test is if any groves can catch your fingernail they are trash.

Used or new is fine as long as they are in spec. You can get in spec good used ones for 350 to 250 a pair

did you check the wear or did you just feel a groove and think it is unusable?

broken in irons will have a slight step but if it is within limits they are perfectly fine to reuse. lapping irons takes off most of the nitrite treatment that keeps the irons from wearing drastically so if you have them lapped then they should be re-treated and i don't believe it is a cheap process. also lapping irons takes material off which can cause fitment issues with the intake and exhaust as well as the port alignment.

a few things to consider before jumping into anything.

posting some pics of the rotor housing would be good for judging whether they are good to reuse or not.
