Question Hoses

Does any know what that thing is that is bolted to the intake manifold and has hoses coming from the intercooler to it then going to a part on the passenger side of the manifold? Does any one know what it is and do I need it can I just hook the hose straight through?

Im not sure what its exactly called, but it detects boost/vaccum that goes between the intercooler and the upper intake. Id leave it in place.

What you are referring to is the air bypass solenoid valve. It's purpose in life is to supply air to the intake manifold on a cold engine for 17 seconds, causing the engine to rev at 3000 rpm. You can stop this by disconnecting the electrical connector, starting the engine in gear, or hitting the gas one time after the engine starts. If you bypass the valve with the tubing, you will create one huge air leak for that 17 seconds, not to mention sucking unfiltered air into the intake manifold. Also, the tubes on the valve do exactly the same thing - they supply air to the BAC (Bypass Air Control valve) used for idle speed adjustment (the next valve in the series you mentioned) due to varying loads, as well as the air bypass solenoid valve. If you remove the air bypass solenoid vavle, you will have to make a blocking plate for the hole in the intake manifold that is opened up - seems a lot simpler to unplug it if'n you don't want it, don't you think???
