Horror story!

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know my little story. Tonight i was drivin around and i noticed that my car didn't have as much power as usual. Well i am going down the highway, so i pull over to see if there were some obvious findings. And what do i find? NO FREAKIN BELTS ON ANYWHERE. This guy about 1 week ago, i thought he knew a whole bunch of stuff and didn't tighten the belts enough. So i am gettin no power, the engine was gettin hella hot and my power steering was loose (couldn't tell highway driving) anyways i am choked. And i gotta put on a whole bunch of new belts on. anyways. what should the free play of belts be? 1/2 inch? 1/4?

I would choke that guy. How long did you drive it overheated? I maybe wrong but I think you should have a 1/4 in I just make it as tight as I can but that is just me.

Yeah, he said he knew "Everything" about cars, he seemed fairly smart. But the car was driving at half temp......for only about 10 minutes.. No harm done i kept the heat full blast. and the hood open a bit. Like 1 click, know what i mean? yeah i will tighten and get new belts tomorrow.
