Horn honks/wipers don't stop?!
Okay, from what I've read at this forum the CPU controls the horn. The frickin' thing goes off, I turn the car off and it seems to reset it for a couple of minutes (if that).
As for the whipers, I whent home buzzed one night and musta hit the wiper switch and it never stopped!!! The off actually speeds up the wipers!? I'm guessing it's just the switch, but after doing some reading I was wondering if it could be the CPU as well? I pull the fuse for the wipers temporarly.
Any tips would be helpful.
Thanks,
Simon

Wipers are not controlled by the CPU, but yes the horn is. You may have broke the wiper switch, or jammed it into the spray position.
There is High, Low, intermittent, off, and spray positions (in that order).
You can swap the horn circuit board from any 86-88 CPU, or resolder the Horn board. You would resolder where the pins meet the circuit board from the plug, and the pins of the relay.

Is there a diagram, that you know of, on the internet I could follow (I've seen the at teamfc3s.org and couldn't see the jpg's that well).
The spray position? Are you talking about the button you press in? I've removed the ***** but not the actuall switch inside the cluster.

But if you turn the switch backwards/down you have the spray position, which sprays fluid on the windows and the wiper runs (normally while spraying and three wipes afterwards).
It sounds like you may have jammed the switch down/backwards to the spray position.
I have a Type 1 CPU that has been rebuilt, except for the buzzer if you want to make me an offer.

As for the CPU. I'm interested, but I want to try and fix this thing first. I have a iron and some rosin. If all goes well, thanks for your help. If all goes to hell, then thanks for the CPU.
I'll find out this weekend, hopefully. I have another car so the TII is sitting right now.
BTW, what's the CPU worth to you?

If you want my spare CPU, I figure $20 shipped with your old core shipped back to me, or $30 shipped without the old core.
again I haven't sourced the Buzzer yet, so I have been unable to replace it... so the buzzer is like at only 25% of normal volumn.

That sounds cool to me. But first I'm going to give it a go and see if I can fix it (it's always gratifying to fix it yourself). These things I can do, for the most part. If I don’t get it working then I’ll send you mine and the cash and I’ll take yours.
