horn and aftermarket steering wheel

how many of you guys with aftermarket wheels had to re wire or do some modification to get your horn to work. just put in my momo wheel wit detaching hub to disconnect the wheel from the car.and horn still no work. i looked under and saw the wire attached to the spring that touchs to the contact disc. and was wondering if any one has spliced it and ran there own wires to the horn. any help is appriciated. any pics would be nice to. thanks

thake the wire that you are talking about and make contact on ground, if the horn sound, the problem is the horn button at the steering wheel that not complete the circuit. Also, if you have problems with the horn relay at the CPU, you can cut the cables an install a 4 pin external relay and the problems solve.

i have a sparco wheel and a signal auto detach steering hub and my horn works some of the time. if i want people to get out of my way i usually just brrrap the throttle untill they move it normally works. as far as your horn not working try cleaning the contacts in the detach hub and on the contact wheel that worked for me!
