Arrow Hood scoop... move or change

Hey i need to modify my hood to fit my 1jz swap ever so slightly.

Rather than cut up a nice turboII hood i'll probably cut a regular aluminum hood and put some kind of aftermarket scoop or transplant a stock rx7 turbo scoop from a damaged hood etc.

Has anyone seen this done or seen any aftermarket scoop that is a little larger and looks good? I want to keep the look pretty much stock.

Any input is appreciated!

If you have the ability to do it, a custom modified NA hood could look nice. Maybe just a small cowl section added in over the engine to give you more space.

The first picture is BEFORE i did the swap!

now it needs maybe an inch of clearance.

actually might be able to get away with just cutting the webbing

So, you have a supra and a supra powered FC?

I would go for the stealthy look and go N/A hood with the webbing cut, the clearance issues look as if they are in the front right?

get aq cheap n/a hood, start cutting out some bracing and see how that goes. Next, just do a small hump like the talons have. After removing the necessary bracing, use a torch to heat the metal so it can stretch a bit and start pounding using some bodywork dollys....

sorry for not knowing that you posted a useless "before the swap" pic with the hood closed....some people may get confused and think you were able to close the hood with the swap. that's why i asked what i did.

maybe you could get away with the stock t2 hood and some aerodyne style hood risers.

Is it the front of the block that is hitting the hood?

the valve cover clears, its the twin turbo setup and the top of the throttle body that seems to interfere

Yeah, piston engines are foreign to me. Just know minimal basics. Valve cover, I'll store that in my memory banks

looks like a found a steel hood locally for free. I'll use that for the test cutting and fitting before i bring a cutoff wheel anywhere near an aluminum one.
