Hood cables

Well i own an '88 rx7 and the hood is starting to be a pain in my butt to open. im guessing and it feels like the hood cable is maybe stretching? what are some options? get a new cable? i would just get hood pins but it worries me that someone could open my hood and help themselves to everything lol! Does anyone make those flush plastic hood pins that lock for the FC?

Make sure everything is still connected properly.

It's pretty easy to access the hood latch assembly. If it's defective, they are pretty easy to find a replacement online.
