I didn't realize realize that the Home Depot racing department had moved into body kits. It's not one of those joke body kits made out of wood that we see in magazine joke columns, etc. is it? eg. parts: one 2x4, two nails, apply with hammer.
learn how to use fiberglass. Fiberglass will be nicer and strong than any lip you can make with home depot stuff.
how do i know?? tried home depot already. they're not very specialized in aero parts. glad i learned to mold fiberglass and cf.

I know its stupid but I wanted to use something in the mean time. Im not really in to making one from scratch right now.
I remember it beng made out of "floor boarder trim." I forgot what its actually called. The stuff that lines the wall near the carpet.

Years ago I had an 87 NA that was running hot.
I fabricated a front air dam with aluminum.
It dropped coolant temps noticeably.
The primary engine heat outlet is under the car and the air dam lowers the pressure in that whole area.
(I later found I had a worn out fan clutch.)
The aluminum air dam was a hassle because I had to keep straightening it.
The heavy vinyl base molding or garden edging will spring back when you scrape it.
The trick is doing a nice job so it looks good.

looks aside, this does work, however you do NOT have to put the air dam on the front of the lip. most major car manufacturers set it back about 3" from the actual lip of the car. anything rubber or flexible is reccomended, because you need something that comes within a half inch of ground w/o breaking off.
a properly installed air dam will greatly increase aero stability by reducing pressure underneath the car at speed, thus increasing downforce.

Maybe a stained glass sunroof. Replace the rear view mirror with a light fixture. Put in hardwood flooring. Replace the shift **** with a door ****. All these things will accent the new lip, and make it look better. Then you can a sticker "Powered by Martha Stewart" and put in on the side with maybe some kind decorative border around it.

whats wrong with a little humor in a thread?

but in all honesty I could not conceive of a reasonable "Home Depot lip." I guess they're not crap, but it's still not my cup of tea.
