Hmm, 13b-RE into 88 SE

I know with the 13b-REW's, that mounting into an FC frame is a pain in the ***, because of the engine mount points are in different locations. Simple question:

Same motor mount positions??
Trans from TII mount up, or am I going to have one bolt not lining up?

I am trying to weigh some options right now, as I am picking up an 88 SE roller with no motor.

I am too lazy to search, and if you tell me to search, don't bother posting a reply.

Thanks
Justin

No you need to use RE engine mount adapters

and

yes the R type tranny will mount onto a RE if you use the correct flywheel.

Argh! That's what I figured. Where's the mounts for it at though? I have seen the bottom of 13B-REW's, but not 13b-RE's. Where can the RE mount adapters be found at? Probably rotaryextreme.com?

And I can get my hands on a TII parts car, and it has the entire drivetrain. Just curious as to if the TII trans would bolt up to the 13b-RE. I know the 13b-REW does, you are just missing one bolting point.

Thanks for the help by the way.

No such luck on finding mount adapters. If they cost 500 bucks, I will have somebody custom make them for me.

The 13b-RE came out of the JC Cosmo's right? They offered the 2 and 3 rotor's in them? Just trying to clear a few things up a bit. And I gotta figure out what ECU to use. Not really too determined at that yet, but if somebody has a recommendation, let me hear it.

Someone on nopistons.com had some mounts for sale, but it was for the 13b-REW, completely different, and these things were STRONG! Nice thick .25" sqaure tubed steel.

And yeah, motor drop seems pretty easy. Just going to try and run it bone stock with aftermarket ECU(not sure of which yet) for a while. Going to run the stock turbo's also. Got about 4k to spend right now, not including the tuning part, to get rolling.

Hopefully starting this up next month, gotta buy the roller tomorrow, get everything put back together interior wise, put badges back on, get interior rewired back up. Blah blah blah blah!

Am I dreaming??

Jesus christ, people who blatantly "dont tell me to search" should have their ******* posts deleted. This **** has been covered a million times, the motor fits fine, You need a standalone to run the engine, OR alot of patience to rewire it with a Cosmo ECU, which you obviously dont have. I found the engine mounts very easily simply by searching google, I recommend getting them from fc3s.org I can see being this lazy, you and the car will not get along very well.

You will not run the stock turbos, because it is a total ******* pain in the ***, and you would probably have to modify t he framrail to get it to fit.

Simply put use a series 4 or 5 turbo and save yourself the headache.

REW has different mounts so it won't fit.

i wasnt sure if you were talking bout the re or rew, you mention both

REW is suppoto drop right in with the mounts you described. the ones that cross below the center iron and use stock fc mounts?

No worries, I have found everything, thanks for the help.

TonyTurboII- I simply stated if you tell me to search, don't bother replying, and go ahead and delete my posts, I found out my information, I just wanted to see if the rumors are true over here. They obviously are true.

Using either motor, whichever I can get my hands on. I still have some little things to take care of on the chassis. Tail lights, badges, interior, etc.
