I've done a search on this, but didn't find any info that seemed pertinent.

I recently picked up a used HKS turbo timer and harness. I installed it this evening and it works (sort of). It comes on and counts down, but it doesn't keep the engine running while it's counting down, the engine shuts off when the ignition is turned off. I hooked the harness up the only way that seems to work, and I have a good ground and I tapped into the wire that comes off the top of the parking brake.

Is the timer fried? Did I do something wrong?

Is it possible that resetting the timer will help, does anyone know?

Call RX7.com, they can help you with that

 

They only sell GReddy (I did call and they couldn't help). I found a guy who can bench test it for me, but not until late next week. Does anyone have any other ideas?

It's probably just the wiring. Attached is a wiring diagram from a HKS turbo timer, but it may be a different model than yours.
