Question HKS SS BOV install...

I finally got my BOV from the RX7 store...so I did'nt have it in time for K&D to install it. I was wondering if any one knows of a website that has detailed instructions on how to install it, the instructions that came with it are'nt that great. I have the kit for my 91 T2. Also, is it really neccessary to unhook the battery...I'm worried that the settings on my S-AFC might get erased. I did'nt tune it myself and I have'nt started to read up on it yet. Any help would be great.

S-AFC should hold all settings even with the battery disconected it stores the settings in memory. There is ALOT of ways to install a BOV ... im not familiar with your particular BOV .. but I have posted a couple posts on how mine in setup .. \with pics. You should always unhook the battery when working on a car to be safe ... by rules... but really you dont need too.

Did you get the BOV kit or is it the universal one with the weld on flange?

You don't need to unhook the battery.

First, look at your BOV kit. The little pipe faces back towards the passenger compartment and the flange points to the passenger side fender. This is the orientation of the pipe. Mount the valve on the pipe first. I pointed my vavle down, making adjustment and vacuum line hook up a lot more simple by exposing the back side.

Take off your intercooler. Remove the old plastic tube/pipe and stock Bypass Valve.

Install your BOV kit making sure to tighten the hose clamps.

Hook up the vacuum line to the BOV nipple.

Plug the air intake hole where the old stock bypass valve vented to. You can use a wine bottle cork to get you the auto parts store. I used a 3/4" Expand-tite rubber plug located near the HELP! section.

Have fun.
