HIGH underhood temps

does anyone have any measurements on how hot the underhood temps get by the filter air. i need cold air im nickel and diming.. does anyone have any solid numbers...im thiking of putting a filter where the air conditioner condensor bottle is. i think my stupid blitz filter is sucking up hot air..

In stop-start traffic I've measured temps as high as 70degC (158degF) at the filter when not using a heat shield and cold air feed. In normal driving anything from 10-30deg above ambient is normal.

Make a baffle box for the filter to seal up againts the hood and block the engine air out.... and get a fresh air headlight cover...

Also.. If you have headers, or a Down Pipe.. Wrap it with header wrap.. That alone dropped the underhood temps of my TII.. If you have the stock manifold.. keep the heatshield on it.. it actually does sever a function
