Hey guys, I just started my TII and it sound BEAUTIFUL! But it is idling @ 2100 rpm. It been running like that for like 5 min and it run really hot, so hot that when u turn off the car steam will start appearing. Question is this normal? Steam and the high idle (well i know high idle is not normal but what can i do to make it idle down to normal) Maybe it is running a bit too lean?(1/4 of a tank right now with Fuel stablizer)

Any idle how to fix this?

Do you have a sticky throttle and/or cruise control cable? Happened to me once or twice...

 

It a brand new throttle cable. maybe i adjusted too much? Thanks for the advice.

 

S4 or S5? Has is idled decently before? Have you done any recent work (besides the throttle cable) to the car?

 

An overtightened throttle cable will easily raise the idle. I just swapped my S4 cable for a new S5, and I had to mess with it a few times to get it just right. Too loose and you won't be able to open the throttle all the way, and too tight will just hold them open.

As for steam coming off the motor. Check all hose connections; one is probably leaking.

 

S5, just done with TII swap. Nothing big, JDM HKS Top mount intercoler, that about it.

I will take off the upper intake 2m to recheck all the hoses.
