How long have you owned it. Did it do this when you bought it or is it something that happen recently. Most probably a vac leak but could be somebody messed with the fast idle screw and screwed up. Free manual at http://www.iluvmyrx7.com Section 4B is the one your interested in. Download and read. Check for vac leaks first. Idle the car and spray starter fluid on each and every vac line and especially the turbo inlet duct from the air flow meter to the inlet of the the turbo. You should have three small vac lines connected to the front of the throttle body just behind the altenator and three and maybe four vac lines on the back side of the throttle body. Make sure they are all on, but you know that. Do the starter fluid thing while idling. P.S. does the idle ever drop down? After warm up? Have you checked the obvious and seen if the throttle cable is too tight and pulling on the throttle all the time? EDIT...you do know the car starts up and runs to 3000rpm for 17 seconds then drops to about 1200 and then as it warms up the car goes to 750?

It could be a problem with the fast idle cam.

13BACE is more right than I. I re-read and noticed that it was 1100 before. Thats too high. Should be 750. Fast Idle cam and fast idle set screw etc could very well be the prob. I'd download that manual, at least section 4A and read it. Something else you might try. On the front side(as in the front of the car) of the throttle body, about 2 and 1/4 inches from where the large black inlet duct attaches, there is a screw with a jam nut on it holding it in place. You'll see that the bottom of this screw can, if screwed in far enough, hold the throttle lever open. Loosen the jam nut with a 8mm wrench. Turn the tiny screw away from the throttle lever. Start the car and see if this lowered the idle. If the bottom of this screw was not or is not touching the throttle lever , don't do the above. Can't help.

I was going to give him the explanation, but I've been getting lazy in my old age. Thanks.
